What do you think a good Shopping Centre should have?
A shopping centre, to my understanding, should have a wide offer for the consumer, as well as making their visit easier. Nowadays people look for convenience in all aspects. We want to have everything available to us and enjoy shopping. I remember when, on Saturday afternoons, my mother used to say to my dad “let’s go shopping” and this meant an ordeal for everyone. Nowadays, going shopping has become a practically daily and routine activity and, in addition, we don’t go to a shopping centre just to shop, we also go to have breakfast or for lunch, to go out to the cinema etc. This is why a good shopping centre should cover the maximum needs of today’s consumer.
What advantages do you think there are to buying at a Shopping Centre?
From a wider offer so that the customer can choose in a space which is smaller than in
a town, to the convenience of being able to have a car park at the door to the shopping centre or leisure areas for little ones etc. Convenience at the end of the day.
What is the best thing about Portal de la Marina Shopping Centre?
Portal de la Marina offers everything commercially to those who visit regularly, as well as the convenience we mentioned earlier. It is a large centre, with good access, the companies are constantly updating their products and the shops to the needs of the customer. The
truth is that Portal de la Marina is one of the most attractive shopping centres in our surroundings.
What would you improve about Portal de la Marina Shopping Centre?
I suppose that, like everything, there would be lots of things that could be improved, but really and to my understanding,
not much. Possibly, they should take more notice of our most valued asset, the climate
of our area. I would take more advantage of the outdoor space that surrounds the centre, promoting recreational or cultural activities. We are in one of the best areas in terms of climate of
mainland Spain and in an unbeatable geographical area. This could mean an added value to this shopping centre’s commercial offer.
What companies do you think Portal de la Marina Shopping Centre is missing?
More than a firm or brand in particular, I think the centre needs, for example, a
stationary-newspaper shop, a culinary offer other than fast food and above all, a recreational offer for young people, such as a bowling alley.
What do you think about Portal de la Marina Shopping Centre’s latest Marketing actions?
In general, on a marketing level, each action or campaign is usually well received. The
media presence is quite visible and it also takes into account all segments of the population. Actions such as the Golden goal or those carried out on days like Mother’s day, Valentine’s day etc, are actions that can have greater impact, but the ones carried out outside of these dates provide more visitors to the shopping centre, for sure.
Tell us an anecdote that has happened to you at the Shopping Centre…
We’ve been in the Shopping Centre for many years already, and we could talk about many things that happen to us
on a daily basis, even funny stories that will leave you stunned. But I remember one day in particular. 15th August, but I don’t remember the year. It rained a lot that day and at 4 in the afternoon they called me urgently to the help out in the cafe. I told them I would be there in 5 minutes. There was so much traffic that it took more than 45 minutes for me to get to the shopping centre. We sold out of every item we had. It was absolute chaos. Now, every day I wake up in the morning and I see it’s a bit cloudy, I check the weather app on my mobile phone to see if it’s going to rain. I’ve ended up obsessed about that day
